Nature’s Playground

May 17, 2022 by Jacquie

We spent half a day exploring St. Andrews by-the-Sea and I didn’t realize until too late that I have very few photos from the actual town. It’s obviously by the sea, and the sea was so enticing… The best part was rambling over rocks and seaweed while the tide was low. Digging for clams.

New Brunswick Homestead

May 17, 2022 by Jacquie

I have to admit I was more than a little devastated when my new friends up and moved 16 hours away. Now they’re setting up the homesteading life I always imagined for myself, and seeing it firsthand it’s hard to be mad at them for leaving me. It’s such a lovely place, I can totally …

New Brunswick is on the Cartwheel Map!

May 17, 2022 by Jacquie

I’ve always wanted to visit the Maritimes but it just never happened till now. I can finally add New Brunswick to my cartwheeling map. Definitely going back for PEI, Nova Scotia and Newfoundland… but I might end up in NB a few more times first πŸ™‚

Take a Picture of Me!

May 17, 2022 by Jacquie

Seeing as how I have no offspring and I’m not really a kid person, I wasn’t quite sure how travelling with a seven-year-old would go down. Turns out it’s pretty great. Travelling with this kid isn’t just about washroom breaks and snacks. It also involves photo shoots on all the rocks at every pit stop. …

Three is Definitely Harder Than One

April 12, 2022 by Jacquie

When I did a photo shoot last week with the boy and his chickens, I couldn’t believe how easy it was. Who said kid photography was hard?? Well it turns out it’s much easier to get one kid to do what you want than three, all at the same. BUT this was so much fun …

A Boy and His Chickens

April 8, 2022 by Jacquie

This kid is the best practice subject I could wish for! I hardly had to give him any direction, he’s just a natural at posing… which is good, because I still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing! So I’d say for my first ever kid shoot, I’m pretty happy with the result😊

Zoom Lens, How I Love Thee

April 3, 2022 by Jacquie

This gorgeous wild thing lives in the woods behind my mom’s house, only showing up for free food. She doesn’t let anyone get close, but you can’t tell with this fantastic big zoom lens, which is my new favourite toy.😍 I’m actually standing halfway across the yard.

I Shot My First Squirrel!

March 29, 2022 by Jacquie

I finally took the time to try out Dad’s big zoom lens for the first time. I had never changed a camera lens before, so it seemed really intimidating and I kept putting it off because I didn’t want to break anything. Turns out it’s super easy. Thank you, YouTube! So this handsome little guy …

Let’s Start with Cats

March 26, 2022 by Jacquie

I know for sure that I want to do photography with people and/or animals. Landscapes, nature that doesn’t move, inanimate objects and buildings just don’t capture my fancy that much. So just to start getting a handle on how to use the camera, it made the most sense to start with my dear Rumble and …

Miss You, Daddy

March 11, 2022 by Jacquie

My dad wore a lot of hats, but one of the things I’m going to miss the most is his passion for photography. He left us quite suddenly just before Christmas, and though my day-to-day doesn’t change a whole lot, my heart will never be the same. I think I’m doing pretty well, but when …
