Watch Out for the Trees

July 30, 2022 by Jacquie

I had so much fun running around the park with this lovely family this morning… How is this gorgeous little lady so big already??

Every time I take photos, I learn a few things that make me better next time.

Today I learned that when you’re shooting around trees, always be mindful that they aren’t coming out of anyone’s head.

Because it will happen. A lot.

Some may have been edited out. Going Black & White is also a good way to make them disappear into the background.

Bonus tips:

  • If you buy sunflowers from a roadside stand and then fill a plastic bag with water to keep them from wilting and then put them in a tote bag and then put your phone in the same bag for safe-keeping and carry it around… yeah. Bad idea. Phone is now at the phone doctor in hopes of being resurrected… and we never ended up using the sunflowers after all that because they were prickly and I was too distraught about the phone. [insert facepalm emoji, I can never find it]
  • It is in fact possible to do a shoot and edit the entire thing on the same day. Yep, it happened. I’m officially loco.
